A day in the life of a Chartered Designer…
At the beginning of the year I set myself a resolution, to achieve the status of Chartered Designer and I’m delighted to say that as of Thursday 12 December 2019, I have done just that. Cutting it a bit fine!
I have been a member of the Chartered Society of Designers since my days studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee but have been keen to ‘level up’ since 2011 when Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II granted to the Society the sole power to set up and maintain The Register of Chartered Designers. At the same time the Society was also granted the power to award the title of Chartered Designer. Granting these powers recognised the role of the Society as ‘THE’ pre-eminant professional body for all design disciplines.
It has certainly been a longer process than I initially expected but then these things shouldn’t really be easy.
